Gwyn comes home!

Cory are pleased to announce the appointment of Gwyn Thomas as Contest Secretary.

Gwyn was a playing member of Cory for 40 years and played Soprano for 25 years.
During Gwyn’s playing career he won: Granada Band of the Year, BBC Band of the Year,  Cory’s  first National win in 1974, The European title in 1980 and most significantly the hat-trick of National Championship wins in 1982-83-84.

Austin Davies comments, “Gwyn is a life member of Cory and we are pleased that he has agreed to accept the position of Contest Secretary.” 

Bob Childs also welcomes Gywn back to the Band, and said, “Gwyn was one of the best soprano cornet players of his generation and his contest record is outstanding. I’m really pleased to have him on the management staff of the band. His knowledge of top banding and his passion for Cory will help us enormously.”
